CIPS has negotiated agreements with other Canadian as well as international IT associations. Each agreement offers something different for CIPS Members and/or the Members of the other associations.
In addition to these agreements, CIPS also sits on two international bodies (the International Federation for Information Processing and the South East Asian Regional Computer Confederation) as the representative of Canadian IT professionals.
Today much of the work of these international bodies concerns professional standards. CIPS, with its own certification program, has been working to ensure that Canadian standards are recognized within any international standard that might be set.
