Requirements: CIPS Provincial Society Certified Member in good standing. Work experience at a strategic level with specific experience in business planning and effective people management skills. Knowledge of the CIPS Professional standards is an asset.
Appointment: The Director of Professional Standards is appointed by the CEO and the appointment is ratified by the National Board of Directors.
Commitment: Minimum commitment 10-15 hours per month.
Responsibilities:
- Chairing Meetings of the Professional Standards Advisory Council (PSAC);
- Ensuring that PSAC terms of reference are met;
- Attending meetings of PSAC sub-committees (Certification Council, Accreditation Councils and any adhoc committee established by PSAC);
- Providing strategic direction with respect to Professional Standards (Accreditation, Certification, Body of Knowledge, Code of Ethics;
- Liaise with Provincial Societies with respect to professional standards;
- Recommending policies to the National Board of Directors with respect to professional standards;
- Liaise with CIPS volunteer representatives to National and International bodies with respect to professional standards i.e. CIPS representative to IP3, the Seoul Accord;
- Liaise with CIPS volunteers who lead PSAC Councils or sub-committees i.e. Director of Accreditation, Chair of the Certification Council; Chair of ISTAC and Chair of CSAC;
- Attending meetings of the Executive Council;
- Participating in all decisions/discussions of the Executive Council germane to the success of the Society;
- Working with staff to prepare an annual budget for portfolio activities;
