The presentation will provide an overview of NRC-IRAP, the Industrial Research Assistance Program.
 
IRAP provides a range of business and technical advisory and funding services for Canadian technology-based SMEs with the objective of accelerating the growth and success of these companies.
 
We hope to generate discussion about where IRAP fits in the in the overall range of federal innovation programs and also talk about IRAP and its partner organizations and programs that are supportive of international business development for Canadian companies.

Michael Leydon is currently an IRAP ITA (Industrial Technology Advisor) based in Saskatoon.
 
Mr. Leydon has been involved in the technology industry in Saskatchewan since the late 1970's having worked with Northern Telecom, SED Systems, Develcon Electronics, QCC Communications and Vecima Networks.
 
Mr. Leydon is an EE/MBA with expertise ranging from HW/SW product design, realtime systems, telecom, cablecom & networking, Internet, RF and mobile design, cloud computing and cyber-security.
 
He has started companies, raised equity financing, taken companies public, had relatively successful exits and provided mentorship for the next generation of technology entrepreneurs.
 
He is currently involved with IRAP clients in fields such as Smart Ag, Ed-tech, Fin-tech, advanced manufacturing, intelligent transportation, online retail, geophysics, augmented reality and related areas.
