CIPS Update and Webinars Links

July 18, 2017

Dear CIPS Members,

I am pleased to write to you and provide some updates on Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) as we continue our efforts to bring you value. We live in times where the pace of technology changes is outpacing the ability for many Organizations to keep pace. The speed of adoption is different depending on the Organization, but we are also seeing skills gaps that create different challenges for everyone involved.

Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS) is committed to assist its members to try and keep pace through various approaches, including bringing relevant and current information by inviting various people who are experts in their fields globally to speak at CIPS events.

Today I want to highlight Webinars that CIPS embarked on last year. We strive to bring in different speakers from all over the world who are experts in their fields to share their views/experiences, and to answer your questions. These Webinars are available for you to attend in person (at no cost) if logistics allow or through the Web. In the event that you miss it for whatever reason, these Webinars are recorded and made available to you through the CIPS Website, our LinkedIn Group, CIPS YouTube Channel etc. Please feel free to share them with your colleagues at work, if you believe it can be helpful to them.

We would like to hear from you on what subjects you would like us to cover. We will do our best to accommodate you. I have provided links below to the recorded webinars and their subjects, so that you can listen to them for the first time if you missed them previously or again if you so choose to do so. Please communicate with us at to provide your feedback. This way we can improve the quality of the Webinars and cover the subjects that you are interested in.

We are here to serve you. This is your Organization so please get involved and help us help you.

On behalf of all my colleagues I want to say to anyone affected by the fires in BC that our thoughts and prayers are with you. We pray for the safety of all affected and their families. We hope that everyone will be able to return to their homes and normal life at the earliest possible time. If we are able to help in any way, please reach out to us.

Wishing you all well.

Best Regards,

Bashir S Fancy
