This will be a presentation of general topics,  from-the-trenches, from an enterprise architect point of view. The presentation will cover off observed methods, processes, stakeholders' interaction and deliverables,  and what has worked well – and not – depending on the context.
 
Topics will include:
  • Ideal Enterprise Architecture (EA) outcomes and realities.
  • EA methodologies, tools and artefacts.
  • Relationships with other stakeholders; Solution Architects, Project Management, IT, Business, Executives.
  • EA as part of the planning and implementation lifecycle.
  • What makes EA successful for a business?
 
Speaker:  Terry Hooper
 
Terry has been in the IT industry in Regina since 1978 and has worked in various technical and analysis roles. He has been a programmer (in over a dozen languages), systems analyst, data analyst, database administrator, solution architect, enterprise architect, national initiatives strategist lead, security analyst, business analyst, and course instructor. He has direct experience working with networks, and platforms ranging from personal computers through mainframes and cloud implementations, and has had business interactions with customers, field staff, managers, directors, and executive. 
 
Over the last nine years, he has worked in an Enterprise Architecture role at four large Regina-based organizations that have included national coverage.
