CIPS Mourns the Loss of Longtime CIPS Member and Volunteer William (Bill) F. Dunn I.S.P., ITCP

The CIPS community is sad to have lost a great longtime CIPS member and individual in William (Bill) F. Dunn I.S.P., ITCP. Bill served for many years on the CIPS National Board of Directors as the Pacific Director, and then as a CIPS BC Director.  Most recently Bill served on the CIPS National Marketing Committee, and represented CIPS BC at the 2012 strategic planning session, and always had the best interests of CIPS at heart.

Bill Dunn, 66 of Victoria, with his loving family at his side, passed away peacefully at the Victoria General Hospital on April 5, 2016. Born in Moncton NB, he was the son of the late Eugene William and Rita Collins (nee O'Donnell). Bill was a career information systems manager, having worked in Victoria with Myra Systems Corp., Electronic Data Systems (EDS), and several BC Ministries. Prior to moving to Victoria, Bill was with the Northern Transportation Company in Hay River NT for 19 years.

Bill graduated from Saint Thomas University Fredericton NB, and also attended University of Victoria and several other post-secondary institutions. He was a member of the Canadian Information Professional Society, and over the years a volunteer with several community organizations including Nigel House and Senior City Seniors.

Bill will be sadly missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Mable (nee Clarke), daughter Grande Prairie RCMP Const. Tiffany Dunn, son David of Victoria, step-daughter Kori Grykuliak (Gord) of Grande Prairie, AB, sister Carolyn Walsh (nee Dunn), Moncton, NB, and brothers David (Michelle) of Shediac, NB, and Richard (Marlene) of Parksville, BC, and numerous extended family. Bill was predeceased by his parents and step-son Chad Clarke.

In honour of Bill donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
