Productivity and the Information Technology Professional

 

Productivity and productivity improvement are some of the most talked about topics in business circles today, but what does it all really mean? How does it relate to the role of Information Technology professionals in business, and how can IT professionals help drive improvements across the business.

 

This luncheon presentation will give attendees an overview of the productivity challenge in Alberta and Canada; an introduction to the core elements of productivity (Innovation, Operations, Leadership & Collaboration) and how they relate to technology and the work of Information Technology professionals.

  

Luncheon attendees will leave the presentation having learned:

 

  • What is really meant by ‘productivity' in modern industry
  • Why productivity matters to organizations and individuals
  • Productivity tools and applications to take back to the workplace
  • The role of Information Technology professionals in leading and supporting an organization's productivity improvement

 

 

Speakers:

 

Matt Knight; Managing Director, Productivity & Growth

Matt leads the Productivity & Growth Services team with GO Productivity, supporting productivity and growth initiatives, facilitation of these initiatives, and working with companies to improve and sustain productivity and competitiveness.

 

Matt has split his career between large management consulting firms and working in the construction and energy industries with a focus on business improvement and supply chain. As a reputable advisor, advocate, and motivated leader, he brings proven success in productivity, innovation, coaching, business improvement, Lean Six Sigma, operations, and strategy.

 

Matt has a Bachelor's degree in international business and supply chain management, is a Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP), and is currently completing his MBA in Economic Development.

 

 

Mike Kluh; Associate Director, Productivity & Growth

Mike brings experience delivering tailored solutions for business problems across multiple industries, with a focus on business process improvement, enhancing supply chain performance, and maximizing the business value of investments in technology. He has completed projects in supply chain network optimization, distribution facility design, IT governance and system selection, and system implementation. Mike has worked in industry and consulting settings, holds his MBA from the University of Alberta, and is certified as a Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt.

 

Mike is adept at facilitating workshops with senior leaders, and is passionate about working with organizations to define their goals and design strategies for achieving them. He has worked with a variety of organizations in Canada and understands the unique challenges Canadian industries face. It is this passion and appreciation of the local economic environment that led him to GO Productivity, where he works with progressive mid-sized companies to provide tailored, industry-specific productivity solutions.
