Presentation Outline:
In this presentation, we will look at the profound structural changes happening in the global financial services industry since the 2008 financial crisis, and the major trends which will affect the Canadian financial services industry in the coming years. In particular, the important role of the exponential changes in technology in the next 5 to 10 years will be discussed in the context of financial services

 

Speaker's Profile:
Jeannot Blanchet is the Canadian Financial Services Leader at Deloitte. With more than 30 years of experience in international investment banking and professional services, Jeannot is a strategic business advisor for financial Institutions. From 2002-2012, he served as Managing Director, Morgan Stanley (London, Paris, Montreal). His responsibilities included advising institutional clients (banks and insurers) around the world (more specifically in Europe) on the implications of various products and structures in terms of asset/liability management and hedging activities. From 2002 to 2005, was Co-Head of the European group “Global Valuation and Accounting Team” (GVAT) in the Equity Research department. He also served as member of the Standards Advisory Council (SAC) of the International Accounting Standards Board (IASB) in London (2001-2002), member of the IASB’s financial instruments working committee (2005-2007) and many other memberships.
