Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) for IT Professionals

via Microsoft TechNet

Cloud adoption is a greatly discussed topic, particularly in regards to its capability and scalability. The enablement offered through proper adoption of cloud technology provide further customer reach and/or greater informational depth internally. As organizations wrap their heads around cloud adoption, they frequently ask the following question:

“Which cloud service is right for my organization?”

From a technical standpoint, we are hosting an event at the Microsoft Canada Headquarters in Mississauga on Friday May 2nd called A trip through the Cloud: Azure Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS). We’ll cover commonly accepted cloud computing models (IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS) and discuss appropriate use cases for each of them. But, we’ll focus on IaaS primarily. I also suggest you check out the inaugural meeting of the Toronto Azure User Group on April 16, 2014.

Microsoft Virtual Academy has great free virtual courseware such as the Windows Azure Deep Dive hosted by Scott Guthrie and Scott Hanselmanand covers key technical topics, including Windows Azure Virtual Machines, Virtual Networks, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) implementation for IT Pros.

If you have any questions that you would like answered, you can visit Dear Azure to submit your questions and have them answered directly by Microsoft. Dear Azure is here to help, so ask away.

When considering your options in regards to cloud adoption on behalf of your organization, be sure to take advantage of the number of resources Microsoft makes available to assist your learning, including the One Month Azure Trial. Let Microsoft help enable your IT department to be the leaders of versatility and scalability within your organization powered by the Azure cloud.
