Techcellence Award for IT Professionalism - Submit a nomination!

                            

Do you know of an individual who recognizes the importance of promoting ethical and professional behavior in the information technology sector and stands as an example of this in their role? If so, then we invite you to submit a nomination for the Techcellence Award for IT Professionalism sponsored by CIPS Ontario.

CIPS is Ontario’s only legally mandated association of IT professionals, responsible for establishing and maintaining professional and ethical standards for the IT profession, protecting the public interest and promoting IT professionals and professionalism to industry, academia and government.

EligibilityCriteria:

1.      The nominee must be employed by a technology-based company located within TechAlliance’s catchment area (the cities of London, St. Thomas, Woodstock, and Sarnia, and the counties of Huron, Elgin, Middlesex and Lambton)

2.      The nominee must be actively engaged in the IT sector in Southwestern Ontario

3.      The nominee should be an individual with a minimum of 12 months experience in an IT role either as an employee or a consultant

4.      The nominee should exemplify professionalism in IT

5.      The nominee should act as a voice and champion of the IT profession to their peers, colleagues and others.  

 

Assessment Criteria:

Nominations will be evaluated by members or partners of CIPS Ontario and will look for:

  • A significant contribution (i.e. time or money) to the IT community/profession by the nominee. Consideration will be given to participation in professional industry associations, contributions to the knowledge base, public speaking and other peer stature activities.
  • The support of a current need in the local IT community that adds value to the industry and/or the advancement of any of the building blocks of IT professionalism (professional ethics, education and training, competencies, bodies of knowledge, etc.)
  • The facilitation of community engagement and ongoing professional development of the local IT community.
  • Excellence and achievement in their professional activities, including but not limited to IT certification and education

Nominations will be accepted until Friday, January 10th.
