Speakers BIO:

Minh is part of the Systems Engineering Team covering major accounts in the Eastern Canada region for Fortinet Technologies. Cumulating over 7 years of experience in information technology both on the operational and architecture-planning of security infrastructures, he has worked with clients of all sizes in all verticals including the region's largest banking and telco carrier.

After studying at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal, he spent a year in Chicago, IL working for a Fortune 500 company before entering the information security world upon his return to Montreal. He learned the ropes with GoSecure, an up and coming local Fortinet partner, during which he acquired a solid expertise in the application of modern IT security technology tools on various platforms. He then pursued his career with Check Point Software Technologies for 4 years before joining the Fortinet team in his quest to widen his knowledge of the ever changing IT security landscape.

Presentation Abstract:

Since the inception of the first generation firewalls, these products have evolved tremendously to follow the trends of the industry. We'll take an in-depth look at what next-generation firewalls are in 2013 and turn ourselves towards the future in an attempt to predict what's next in both the threat landscape and technological countermeasures.
