Following the successful accreditation of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) IT programs last month, CIPS was invited to attend the HCT Economic Forum Conference on May 5, 2009. The conference was attended by dignitaries from France, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates.
Daryle Niedermayer, I.S.P., ITCP, the CIPS Saskatchewan President and current CCITP representative, was asked to present the commemorative plaque to the school during the conference. Mr. Niedermayer currently works in the Middle East and his attendance at the conference was co-sponsored by his employer, the College of the North Atlantic (Qatar).
"Through the CIPS accreditation model, we can continue to ensure the programs continue to meet the particular needs of the local context, while addressing the requirements of international benchmarking and formal accreditation," Dr. Tayeb Kamali, Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) Vice Chancellor said.
