Since 1958, CIPS has helped strengthen the Canadian IT industry by establishing standards and sharing best practices for the benefit of individual IT professionals and the sector as a whole. CIPS (Canadian Information Processing Society), headquartered in Mississauga, Ontario, is the professional association for Information Technology (IT) practitioners in Canada.
- Certification of IT professionals (Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) and Information Technology Certified Professional (ITCP) designations); and
- Accreditation of computer science, software engineering, and MIS programs in Canadian colleges and universities.
CIPS also offers other benefits and services to its members ranging from a Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct to educational conferences (e.g. INFORMATICS) and networking opportunities.
In the province of Québec, CIPS is partnered with the RÉSEAU ACTION TI.
