As you are perhaps already aware, Canadians across the country will be celebrating the Right to Know during the week of September 24 - 28. In recognition of Right to Know, CAPAPA presents an event for the public in Calgary on Monday, September 24th and Victoria on Friday, September 28th, which will ask the question "Does open government matter?" Our focus will be on the provincial and municipal levels of government.

The Summit is especially important now that governments are embracing Open Government as a default position, yet highly publicized reports reveal a growing conundrum — governments that promote openness but seem to discourage access to information.

The Sunshine Summit will include experts on access to information and open government from a number of different organizations and representing a variety of views on the desirability of openness in government. We are also planning to have representatives from government to offer their insight about open government. For more information about the speakers, visit http://capapa.org/Sunshine.html

The Sunshine Summit is an important opportunity to have your questions answered. To be heard. And to learn about Open Government.

Reserve your space today by registering at www.CAPAPA.org/Sunshine.html or call us at 403.254.4376.

We look forward to seeing you there.
