Presentation Overview:

The PotashCorp’s Technical System, IT team embarked on an ambitious project to completely tear down and reorganize the Saskatoon based Data Center  The project was almost a year in the planning, with the outage being a full 4 days. The project mainly addressed  limited room available for new equipment, but there were also the following areas that needed to be dealt with:

-   Power and Cooling : The UPS capacity had been reached and there was an   unbalanced power distribution.      There were air flow restrictions from excess and legacy cables

-   Cable management and problem diagnosis had become difficult.

-    Racks were a mismatch of equipment categories with some obsolete equipment

Rob will review the project stages from planning to implementation, as well show a  time lapsed video of the implementation weekend.
