Pat Gaudet, I.S.P. (Inactive), ABCP
Pat Gaudet, I.S.P. (Inactive), ABCP, has been a member of the CIPS Golden Horseshoe Board since 2007. She was Director-At-Large of the CIPS National Board and a member of the National Board's Executive Committee from 2003 to 2008, and remains as a member of the CIPS National Finance Committee. She obtained her professional designation in 2002 - i.e., certification as an Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.). Pat was a Director on the CIPS Toronto Board from 2000 to 2007, serving as Toronto’s President in 2001-2003 and Past President in 2003-2005. In 2000-2001, as Vice President and Director of Media Relations for CIPS Toronto, Pat was responsible for liaising with the media on issues and policies affecting the Information Technology professional, which was a role new to the Board. A member of CIPS Toronto since 1992, her previous CIPS experience includes co-founding and chairing the Year2000 and the End User Computing Special Interest Groups (SIGs). She is co-founder and an active member of the Business Continuity Management (BCM) SIG and for a number of years led or participated in and was the Board member responsible for the local 'Women in IT' program aimed at Grade Nine girls.
Pat is proprietor of Gaudet & Associates, Consultants specializing in IT Business Continuity, IT Risk Management and IT Project Management. Prior to establishing her own business, she was manager responsible for the business continuity management process in the IT unit of a large Canadian financial institution. Responsibilities included coordinating the creation, maintenance and exercising of business continuity plans (BCPs) and the incident management plan for the department. In 1997-2000, she successfully managed the IT unit's Y2K transition projects for Contingency Planning and End User Computing. Her extensive and varied experience has resulted in a good understanding of technology and its effect on the financial industry. She has specialized experience in internal consulting, management information systems / end user computing and most recently, risk assessment and business continuity. Early career assignments included project management of development, implementation and maintenance of international banking applications.
