Managing with Limited Resources
We've all heard it: do more with less. Continually being asked to be more productive with budget cuts and ever-shrinking resources is the new normal for most businesses, schools and the public sector.
Directors, managers and supervisors are responsible for mitigating the effects on staff/service/production of this new normal. Whether its managing one project or the whole business, managers must have an arsenal of effective tools at hand to meet the challenges of MLR.
Ashton Sewlal will discuss conventional MLR strategies including:
- Using resources efficiently to their highest and best use
- Deciding if resources could be better employed elsewhere
- Organizing resources for maximum output for a given input
- Dealing with internal and external constraints and competition
Plus... Ashton will offer practical insights into how best use of resources affects the overall health of an organization and its people.
Ashton has had a rich and rewarding career in human resources and project management. He worked for the ATCO Group of Companies in Northern Alberta developing management talent for the oil patch. He is currently working with the Loblaws Group of Companies developing the management pool at Real Canadian Superstore. He runs his own consulting and training business on the side.
