The New Normal

Andrew Stevens, CA Technologies

We're living in a new era that is characterized by what we like to call the "New Normal". We say that because the transformation we see taking place in IT and business is not based on one singular, game-changing breakthrough in technology. It's being driven by the confluence of key trends, technologies and events - and a rising set of expectations for an experience that is seamless, fast, accessible 24x7 on any device from anywhere with no interruptions. Sounds simple, right?

But that's the New Normal - increasing demands, higher expectation, with little increase in budget or resources. Of course, we've been talking about the grid, utility computing, on-demand computing - now broadly grouped as the cloud - for at least a decade now. It's all possible because of the ubiquity of the Internet.

This session will explore the drivers and evolution of new approaches to close the gap on demand and delivery of technology services.
