The word cloud computing brings more confusion than clarity for most people, with as many definitions as people responding to the questions “What is cloud computing?”. This presentation looks to demystify the cloud a little and look at the practical application the cloud may have and what implications this new wave of innovation may have on the tech sector and the economy as a whole.

Speaker Biography

Wilbour Craddock is a Technical Strategist with Microsoft Canada based in Regina. For the last 3 ½ years he has worked with Microsoft Ireland most recently as an Architect Evangelist focused on cloud technologies. The allowed Wilbour the opportunity to work with software companies developing SaaS solutions as well as large enterprises and public sector customers looking to cultivate cloud strategies. This role also allowed Wilbour the opportunity to speak at tech conferences across Europe and to work with multinational tech companies with EMEA operations based in Ireland like Dell, HP, Google, Intel, IBM, and PayPal in looking at the financial impact the cloud would have for the Irish Economy and the tech sector in general as part of industry and government working groups. Prior to joining Microsoft Wilbour worked with SaskEnergy and Saskatchewan Transportation Corporation in various roles, he is an ISP, ITCP and served as a board member and president of CIPS Regina prior to his move.
