Real Life Distributed Teams An overview on how distributed teams can work in a large scale enterprise IS organization. The talk will examine the benefits that can be realized with distributed teams and the challenges that arise, the role technology plays in keeping the information flowing and the communication channels open and how to manage and lead a distributed group. By focusing on the real life experiences of one organization this will offer some insight into distributed teams. David Tetlock VP and Chief Architect As VP and Chief Architect, David Tetlock holds worldwide responsibility for Architectural Oversight including the establishment of Enterprise Target State Architecture and Design patterns. David has been associated with the Power Financial group of companies since 1981 starting with Great West Life which, through acquisitions, has grown to the many companies which now make up the majority of Power Financial. Operations include Canadian, US and European locations with investment offices in the Caribbean and the Far East. David has more than 25 years of IT management experience in the Financial Industry focused on Insurance and Mutual Fund management and Distribution. Mr. Tetlock established the Enterprise Architecture Practice within Power Financial group of companies starting with Great West Life. David holds a Bachelor of Science Honors degree in Computer Science from the University of Manitoba. David also has a Information Systems Management diploma from the University of Manitoba.
