Come hear a perspective from a Calgary based company that has been responding to these issues for the Energy Sector for the past several years. Philip Fodchuk, Principal of Urgentis Digital Crisis Solutions Inc., will present on recent cases in Western Canada where Urgentis has responded to and identified various IP and data theft scenarios. From targeted espionage by competitors, to internal employees stealing data for profit, to targeted malware incidents, all of it will be discussed.



Philip is the Principal and Founder of Urgentis Digital Crisis Solutions Inc., which is based in Calgary, Alberta. With over 15 years of industry and legal system experience with digital crisis issues, he is a recognized expert in Digital Forensic investigations, IT security consulting, eDiscovery, and is a Court Qualified Expert in Computer Forensics and Digital Evidence.

Before forming Urgentis, Philip led Deloitte’s Western Canadian Analytic and Forensic Technology practise, where he assisted organizations and governments globally in digital forensic and incident response matters. Prior to joining Deloitte, he was a sworn police officer with both the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) and Calgary Police Service where he was assigned to the Technological Crimes Sections of both agencies and worked within the portfolio of Critical Infrastructure Protection with the RCMP post 9/11. Philip has worked with all levels of Governments in both Canada and the United States on auditing, investigating and securing critical IT infrastructures. In addition, he has also worked with energy sector organizations in his role as Critical Infrastructure Protection liaison for law enforcement matters.
