The Alberta Provincial Society of CIPS and Leaders Beyond™ Partner to Advance Leadership-Based Learning for IT Professionals

CALGARY – Oct. 22, 2012 – In support of its mission to facilitate professional executive development for its members and the IT community, CIPS Alberta & NWT has entered into a strategic partnership with Leaders Beyond (formerly The CIO Summit) to provide its suite of programs to members at preferred rates. According to Doug Brown, President of CIPS Alberta, “Our organization has a long history of support for the IT Executive Leader Program and many of our members have credited the learning experience with significantly advancing their careers and skills. We are now pleased to additionally recommend the new Emerging IT Leader Program to our membership and to the Alberta IT community.”

Barry Clavir, Managing Partner of Leaders Beyond, stated, “We are proud to have the confidence of the CIPS Alberta membership and look forward to adding our Emerging IT Leader Program  to the list of recommended membership offerings which are eligible for Information System Professional of Canada (I.S.P.) and Information Technology Certified Professional (ITCP) re-certification credits. This means that CIPS members can now choose the right program for the appropriate stage of theirs or their staff’s career development while maintaining their professional certification.”

Leaders Beyond is unique in featuring a faculty of real-world executives, CIO’s and practitioners, dedicated to passing on the knowledge and insight that they have gained through many years of experience. They deliver the lessons that they wished they had known earlier in their careers with the goal of helping their students to avoid career pitfalls and missteps, and to accelerate their success.

The Emerging IT Leader Program will run in Calgary from May 6th-9th, 2013. CIPS members may register immediately at
