Richard McKeelis a Senior Business Analyst and Project Manager with ARC Business Solutions in Calgary, AB. Prior to joining ARC’s Professional IT Services practice in 2007, Richard held numerous roles at Richer Systems Group since 2003, including Manager of Process Optimization and Quality Assurance, VP of Product Development, and Director of Shared Services. His earlier roles include Development Manager for Enron Canada, Data Architect, Business Analyst, Project Manager, and Manager of Global Systems Integration at Enron Corp. in Houston, TX. Richard started his career in IT systems business analysis as a User Analyst in NASA’s Mission Operations Directorate in 1990, developing technology requirements for the International Space Station Flight Control Room, Integrated Planning System, and on-orbit systems.
Overview of Presentation: The role of a Business Analyst is paramount to the success of a project from inception to delivery. Filling these important shoes effectively throughout the project life-cycle can be challenging. The BA role must be framed correctly with Sponsors, Stakeholders, PM’s, Developers and QA’s. The BA must use their ability to investigate, influence and ultimately have preparation for the inevitable challenges that will arise within a project.
