One part of CIPS' objectives states that CIPS and its Members should work "to establish a public awareness of the potential impact of information systems and to protect the public and individuals against the misuse of information systems." To fulfill this objective, we need your expertise and input.
Not only will you be contributing to CIPS and to the IT profession as a whole, but you will achieve personal and professional satisfaction for yourself. John Boufford summed up his time working on his own position paper development in the following manner:
|"The Society's Members receive services that enhance their education, their skills and their professionalism. As a result, employers who hire a Member of CIPS who has received certification as an Information Systems Professional (I.S.P.) can be confident about the quality of that person's work."|
